Tofu Tikka

I can never eat boring and bland food to be healthy. I am a foodie and a firm believer of eating food that makes us feel great and that we seriously enjoy. Tofu is a cholesterol free, fat free, low calorie, protein rich and, a super healthy alternative to Paneer. Tofu Tikka recipe is crazy simple and does not require hours of marination or a long list of spices. It will be a perfect addition to your summer parties, or you can make it on weekdays and serve it over salad for dinner or as a side on its own. I made it on stove top and took me less than ten minutes to cook tofu (including the preparation).

1/2 Teaspoon Ground Turmeric
1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder or Paprika

2 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
1 Teaspoon Olive Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
Salt to Taste

Process

  1. Drain the excess liquid and place the block of tofu on a plate and squeeze any additional liquid by pressing the tofu with paper towel. Cut the tofu into cubes and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together yoghurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, salt, chili powder, turmeric and coriander powder.
  3. Using a fork, gently poke tofu cubes and brush with marinade on all the sides.
  4. Place a non stick flat pan over medium heat and coat with olive oil. Cook the marinated tofu cubes on medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the color on the top changes to brown.

Enjoy! 🙂
