Dark Chocolate Covered Orange Bites (2 Ingredients)

I have mentioned in many of my previous posts that healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated and boring, as many people and articles make it sound. On the contrary, I find it more interesting and satisfying. By upgrading the ingredients and with little creativity, you’ll never have to give up your favorite food in pursuit of being healthy. Eating healthy doesn’t have to mean giving up all the foods you love, it is about making a difference in the way you eat.

Few days ago, I decided to indulge my sugar craving with dark chocolate covered orange bites. They are delicious and so easy to make. If you are looking for last minute dessert ideas that are healthy and don’t wanna go the store bought dessert route, these are a perfect option requiring minimal ingredients and with plenty of healthy benefits, this is one dessert that is Vegan, Gluten-Free, Paleo and Keto friendly.

Orange Bites

Ingredients
2-3 Oranges, Organic
6 Ounces Dark Chocolate (Over 75% cocoa content), chopped

Process

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Wash the oranges and dry them using a paper towel.
  3. Using a sharp knife or mandolin, cut the oranges into 1/2 inch slices. Cut each slice into half. I prefer cutting them into quarters, as they are easy to eat.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler (stirring occasionally), until smooth.
  5. Carefully dip the oranges slices into the chocolate, ensuring they are evenly coated on each side.
  6. Place the chocolate dipped orange bites on the prepared sheet and let cool in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Enjoy! 🙂
