Superfood Hot Cacao with Seed Mylk

What is comforting, delicious and full of health benefits –> this “Superfood Hot Cacao“!!! It comes together in a few minutes and requires just a blender with a handful of ingredients. I made this on a cold/rainy afternoon and it felt like a warm hug in a mug. I’ve used Ahwagandha (best known for its stress releasing, reduced glucose and triglycerides level and muscle growth properties) and Lucuma (a great source for soluble fibre and excellent antioxidant) to elevate the nutrition profile, but you can completely omit these if needed. You could also add instant espresso or coffee powder to make a superfood mocha… as always, use the below recipe as a template and do you. I hope you make it and enjoy it as much as i did!! xx

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Hemp Hearts
  • 1 Tablespoon Raw Pepitas
  • 1 Tablespoon Watermelon Seeds or Sunflower Seeds
  • 1 Medjool date, pitted (and more for extra sweetness)
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ashwagandha
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Lucuma Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Cacao Powder
  • 1″ Piece of your Favorite Dark Chocolate 75% or >
  • 1 Cup Hot Water

Process

  1. Add hemp hearts, pepitas and watermelon/sunflower seeds to hot water (in a blender cup) and let it soak for 10-15 minutes.
  2. To the blender with soaked seeds and water, add all the other ingredients and blend till everything is creamy and frothy.
  3. Pour the drink in a mug, sprinkle extra cacao/cinnamon and serve warm.
