Banana Nutella Bread with Chia Seeds
This bread is a magical combo of banana and nutella. The texture is somewhat of a tender coffee cake with streusel topping. The bananas add extra moisture and the nuts add an earthy crunch. Streusel adds a magnificent crunchy and sweet topping to this already delightful bread. This bread is the best served fresh out of the oven. However, it will last, well wrapped, at room temperature for 4 to 5 days.
Add a scoop of Vanilla or Coffee ice-cream, to serve/consume this bread as a fancy dessert!!
Ingredients
1/2 Cup Butter, melted
1 Cup Granulated White Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
1/4 Cup Walnuts, chopped
2 Bananas, sliced
2 Tablespoons Nutella
1 Teaspoon Chia Seeds
Streusel Topping:
1 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
1 Tablespoon Granulated White Sugar
1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon All Purpose Flour
1 Teaspoon Walnut, finely chopped
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
Process
- Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt, stir into the butter mixture until smooth. Finally, fold in the sour cream, walnuts, chia seeds and bananas. Add half of this mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
- Spread Nutella and add the remaining mixture over it.
- For the streusel topping: Mix all the ingredients together using a fork or your fingers until the mixture is crumbly and resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle the streusel on top of the bread mixture in the pan.
- Bake for 50 – 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before taking it out on a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy!
